Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager to drive commercial growth throughout Central Indiana. This position is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing long-term client relationships, and expanding commercial landscape maintenance and enhancement services. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in business development, account management, estimating, and commercial landscaping, with the ability to build trust, generate new revenue, and deliver exceptional customer service. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated sales professional who enjoys cultivating partnerships and contributing to the long-term success of a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans to identify, pursue, and secure new commercial landscape maintenance contracts and enhancement projects.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with property managers, facility managers, municipalities, HOAs, commercial real estate professionals, developers, and business owners through networking, client meetings, and site visits.
  • Perform property assessments, prepare accurate estimates and proposals, present solutions, negotiate contracts, and close new business opportunities.
  • Manage assigned client accounts by conducting routine property reviews, identifying additional service opportunities, resolving customer concerns, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
  • Collaborate with operations and leadership to ensure project estimates align with operational capabilities, pricing objectives, and successful project execution.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline, monitor market trends and competitor activity, provide regular sales forecasting and reporting, and consistently achieve revenue, profitability, and business development goals.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following OSHA regulations, PPE requirements, and company policies.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in commercial landscaping, ground maintenance, green industry sales, or related fields.
  • Proven success in business development, outside sales, account management, or commercial client relationship management.
  • Experience preparing estimates, proposals, and contracts for commercial maintenance and landscape enhancement projects.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial landscape maintenance services, enhancements, irrigation, drainage, hardscape, and related solutions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, relationship-building, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and estimating software. Landscape industry certifications or related education are considered a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory for client meetings, networking events, and property site visits.
  • Ability to walk commercial properties over varied terrain to perform site assessments and inspections.
  • Frequently stand, walk, sit, drive, bend, and use standard office equipment throughout the workday.
  • Occasionally lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a driving record that meets company requirements.
