Their duties typically include helping patients with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, and eating, as well as taking vital signs, making beds, and maintaining a clean environment. HCAs play a vital role in hospitals, care homes, and community settings, ensuring patients are comfortable and their basic needs are met. While they do not provide medical diagnosis or treatment, their support is essential to the smooth running of healthcare services.
