Job description

Systems Administrator
Position Type: Full-time | Schedule: Hybrid, 3 days in office and 2 days remote
The Systems Administrator will support, secure, and improve the organization's technology environment across networking, Microsoft 365, endpoint management, identity, email, and cloud-based services. This role is ideal for a hands-on administrator who can manage day-to-day operational needs, lead technical improvements, support cross-departmental initiatives, and partner closely with the Senior Systems Administrator and Help Desk Manager to strengthen the overall technology stack.
Key Responsibilities
Networking and Infrastructure
  • Manage, patch, configure, and troubleshoot firewalls, switches, wireless access points, and related network infrastructure.
  • Support Azure networking components and cloud connectivity requirements.
  • Administer and troubleshoot VPN connectivity for users, offices, and business needs.
  • Coordinate office wiring projects, including working with contractors to install cabling and network infrastructure in new or remodeled offices.

Microsoft Intune and Endpoint Management
  • Manage device patching, software deployment, and endpoint configuration through Microsoft Intune.
  • Create, deploy, and maintain remediation scripts to improve device compliance and resolve recurring issues.
  • Monitor endpoint health, analytics, compliance trends, and device performance indicators.
  • Administer configuration profiles, compliance policies, and security settings for managed devices.
  • Support mobile device management, including company cell phone management and AT&T vendor coordination.

SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and Collaboration Platforms
  • Create, configure, and maintain SharePoint sites to support business collaboration and information sharing.
  • Manage Microsoft 365 and unified groups, including ownership, membership, and lifecycle support.
  • Support intranet management, content organization, permissions, and platform improvements.

Identity, Access, and Security Administration
  • Administer identity provider platforms, including Okta and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Manage, review, and update conditional access policies, MFA requirements, and authentication controls.
  • Support Entra application registrations, role-based access control, Graph API permissions, and related security settings.
  • Implement and support application integrations, including SCIM provisioning, SSO, and identity lifecycle workflows.

Onboarding, Data Migration, and Domain Administration
  • Support user and office onboarding activities, including system setup, access readiness, and technology coordination.
  • Perform email and file data migrations as part of onboarding, transition, or consolidation projects.
  • Manage DNS registration and domain implementation tasks for new offices, brands, or business requirements.

Email, DNS, and Marketing Platform Support
  • Administer email-related DNS records and authentication controls, including SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
  • Support journaling and email compliance requirements.
  • Assist with configuration and support for marketing and communication tools such as Constant Contact and Snappy Kraken.

Escalation Support and Continuous Improvement
  • Handle escalations from the Help Desk, providing advanced troubleshooting and timely resolution for complex technical issues.
  • Work closely with the Senior Systems Administrator and Help Desk Manager to improve tools, processes, documentation, and the broader technology stack.
  • Contribute to cross-departmental initiatives by translating business needs into reliable, secure, and scalable technology solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, improved monitoring, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of experience in a systems administration role preferred.
  • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID, SharePoint, Exchange Online, and endpoint management platforms.
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts, including firewalls, switching, wireless, VPN, DNS, and Azure networking.
  • Experience with identity and access management, including SSO, SCIM, MFA, conditional access, RBAC, and application permissions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot escalated technical issues across endpoints, networking, identity, email, and cloud services.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with IT teammates, vendors, contractors, and non-technical business stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with scripting, automation, documentation, monitoring, and process improvement is preferred.
