Waubun-Ogema-White Earth Schools is seeking a dedicated and qualified High School Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) Teacher for grades 912. The ideal candidate will foster a supportive and engaging classroom environment that promotes practical life skills, personal development, and career readiness. Instructional areas may include nutrition, culinary arts, child development, relationships, and financial literacy.

Job Summary: Under the direction of the building principal, the licensed teacher will provide instruction in Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) to high school students. The teacher will promote practical life skills through engaging instruction in areas such as nutrition, culinary arts, child development, financial literacy, relationships, and career readiness.

Assignment: Certified

Essential Functions

  • Plan and deliver lessons aligned with the FACS curriculum and state standards.
  • Teach topics such as food preparation, nutrition, budgeting, personal development, parenting, and other life skills.
  • Utilize hands-on activities, projects, and labs to engage students in real-world applications.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to support learning and mastery.
  • Maintain a safe and organized classroom and lab environment, including proper use of equipment and materials.
  • Manage classroom behavior and create a respectful, inclusive environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and staff to support student needs and school goals.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and school events as needed.
  • Attend professional development and remain current with teaching practices and curriculum changes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
