Data Entry Operator I - Pompano Beach, FL, Monday to Friday, 6:00 PM to 2:30 AM
Pay range: $17.20+ per hour; employee may be eligible to receive shift differential of 10% for some or all hours worked on second shift and 15% for some or all hours worked on third shift. Additional details on shift differential will be provided if an offer is extended.
Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsible for data entering all patient and specimen information into the laboratory information system.
Responsibilities
  • Verifies requisitions for completeness of patient and client information
  • Accurately enters all patient and specimen information into laboratory information system (patient name, location, etc.).
  • Responsible for verifying patient names in Navinet or Emdeon for all cases that do not have insurance cards attached and also verifying illegible names in Navinet or Emdeon.
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information concerning patients, physicians, employees, clients, vendors, and the Company.
  • Complies with all State, Federal, professional regulations as well as department rules, polices, and procedural manuals.
  • Adherence to Safety Regulations.
  • Adherence to HIPAA Regulations.
  • Ability to learn and work in the Laboratory Information System
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Work Experience:
Minimum typing speed 40 WPM or equivalent 6 months work experience.
Preferred Work Experience:
  • Experience with Medical terminology
  • One year experience as a Data Entry Clerk in a medical facility.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • Requires full range of body motion including manual finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • May require lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds.

Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of word-processing software
  • Knowledge of Navinet and Emdeon systems

Skills:
  • Ability to operate copier, printer, fax machine and scanner
  • Skills in written and oral communication.

Education
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
