Job description

Women's Health APP | Gynecology & Urogynecology | AdventHealth Palm Coast 

AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking a compassionate and patient-centered Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our growing Gynecology Surgery team in Palm Coast, Florida. 

This opportunity offers the ability to practice independently while collaborating closely with an experienced Gynecologic Surgeon, providing comprehensive women's health and lower-acuity urogynecologic care within a collaborative, physician-led practice. 

Position Highlights 

  • Outpatient practice focused on gynecology and lower-acuity urogynecology 
  • Independent management of appropriate patient populations 
  • Collaborative practice alongside an experienced Gynecologic Surgeon 
  • Comprehensive gynecology and lower-acuity urogynecology care

Clinical Responsibilities 

General Gynecology 

  • Annual well-woman examinations 
  • Preventive health screenings 
  • Pap smears and cervical cancer screening 
  • Contraception counseling and management 
  • Menopause evaluation and hormone replacement therapy management 
  • Evaluation and follow-up of abnormal uterine bleeding 
  • Management of vaginitis and vulvovaginal disorders 
  • Pelvic pain evaluation and management 
  • STI screening, treatment, and patient counseling 
  • Breast health evaluations and coordination of appropriate screening 

Lower-Acuity Urogynecology 

  • Management of overactive bladder (OAB) 
  • Evaluation of urinary urgency and frequency 
  • Evaluation and management of recurrent urinary tract infections 
  • Medication management for urinary symptoms 
  • Pessary maintenance and follow-up after physician initiation 
  • Post-void residual assessments 
  • Review of laboratory, pathology, and diagnostic testing 
  • Routine post-operative gynecology follow-up according to physician protocols 

Care Coordination 

  • Collaborate closely with the urogynecologist regarding complex pelvic floor disorders 
  • Coordinate referrals, imaging studies, procedures, and specialty consultations 
  • Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and preventive health 
  • Ensure continuity of care through timely follow-up and communication 

Scope of Practice 

  • The APP will independently manage patients presenting for: 
  • Annual well-woman examinations 
  • Menopause consultations 
  • Contraceptive management 
  • Vaginal infections 
  • Follow-up for abnormal uterine bleeding 
  • Overactive bladder medication follow-up 
  • Recurrent urinary tract infection follow-up 
  • Pessary maintenance visits 
  • Routine post-operative gynecology visits 

Complex pelvic floor disorders, surgical decision-making, and higher-acuity urogynecology patients will be managed collaboratively with the supervising physician.

  • Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program 
  • Current Florida APRN or PA-C licensure (or eligibility) 
  • Board certification 
  • DEA certification (or eligibility) 
  • Women's Health, Family Medicine, Adult-Gerontology, or Physician Assistant background preferred 
  • Experience in Women's Health, OB/GYN, Urogynecology, or Primary Care preferred 
  • Excellent communication, patient education, and collaborative practice skills
