Job description

A hospital-owned retail pharmacy in Valley Head, WV, is seeking a Staff Pharmacist for a 12-week contract beginning September 8th. This role offers the opportunity to support a busy community-focused pharmacy serving roughly 4,000 prescriptions monthly while contributing to a welcoming patient environment, which also includes a gift and coffee shop.
Schedule & Location:

  • 20 hours per week, preferably Tuesday and Wednesday
  • 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM shifts (10 hours with a 30-minute lunch)
  • Located in a hospital-owned retail pharmacy setting in Buckeye, WV
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and staff pharmacists to ensure smooth operations
  • Verify and dispense medications with accuracy and safety
  • Manage inventory, medication stock, and formulary compliance
  • Ensure adherence to controlled substance regulations and documentation
  • Administer the 340B program and maintain compliance standards
  • Handle pharmacy billing, claims submission, and reconciliation
  • Utilize Pioneer RX and electronic health record systems effectively (training provided)
  • Support workflow improvements and quality initiatives
  • Administer immunizations as part of patient care
Qualifications:
  • Active and clear West Virginia pharmacist license required
  • Previous experience with Pioneer RX preferred
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Pharmacy; PharmD preferred but not mandatory
  • Current CPR and immunization certifications
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
