Job description

Avoq is seeking an entrepreneurial leader to serve as Head of Growth reporti ng to an experienced Chief Executive Officer and partnering closely with senior leadership, responsible for shaping and executing the firm's enterprise growth strategy. This leader will integrate marketing, business development, client expansion and market positioning into one coordinated growth strategy to build revenue, strengthen the firm's brand and expand strategic client relationships.

This role combines strategic vision with operational excellence and requires someone equally comfortable shaping firm strategy, advising senior leadership, leading major opportunities and building scalable marketing and business development programs. Additionally, designing a thought leadership and marketing strategy for key areas of the firm’s expertise and elevating Avoq’s brand in the marketplace will be an important component of this role.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Build a culture of growth across the firm by equipping leaders with the tools, processes, insights and marketing support needed to deepen client relationships and win new business.

Integrated Growth Strategy

  • Contribute and execute Avoq's firm-wide growth strategy in partnership with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team
  • Identify priority growth sectors, emerging markets, client opportunities
  • Develop annual and multi-year growth plans aligned with firm objectives
  • Create measurable growth goals and accountability across communications and government relations practices

Monitor competitive trends and recommend strategic adjustments

  • Build alignment across practices around firm-wide growth priorities
  • Conduct ongoing market analyses to determine growth industries and sectors
  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships and alliances that expand Avoq's market presence and create new opportunities

Business Development and Client Growth

  • Lead the form''s new business and marketing strategy, including opportunity prioritization
  • Oversee RFP responses, pitch strategy, proposal development and presentation preparation
  • Partner with Practice Leads and Executive Leadership to identify opportunities for cross-selling and organic client growth
  • Enhance standardized processes that improve efficiency, win rates and forecasting
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies and AI-enabled tools that improve marketing effectiveness, business development and client acquisition
  • Partner with Practice Leads and Executive Leadership to establish growth goals, define success metrics and foster accountability for firm-wide growth initiatives
  • Track and assess pipeline activity to spot trends that impact strategy and opportunities for improvements

Marketing and Brand Leadership

  • Create a marketing plan that includes speaking engagements and thought leadership opportunities for the firm and its key team members
  • In coordination with Practice Leads and other senior leaders oversee the creation of capabilities presentations and promotion materials
  • Shape how Avoq is positioned in the marketplace, including messaging, thought leadership, strategic partnerships, awards and industry events.
  • Supports Avoq's market positioning and value proposition, ensuring the firm's capabilities, expertise and differentiators are communicated consistently across every client and prospect touchpoint.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
  • As a qualified candidate, you have experience in all areas below:
  • 15+ years of experience leading strategic growth initiatives, business development and brand marketing within a communications firm, consulting firm or other professional services organization
  • Demonstrated success driving measurable revenue growth
  • Experience managing complex pursuit processes and client relationships
  • Strong understanding of brand strategy, digital marketing and corporate communications
  • Strong knowledge of various communication platforms and demonstrated experience in advancing an organization’s thought leadership in conjunction with industry awards and other industry events
  • Excellent analytical capabilities and outstanding written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to quickly develop trusting relationships and build consensus with colleagues and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, matrixed, and dynamic environment where it is the norm to manage multiple projects and issue-areas simultaneously
  • Experience scaling growth within a consulting, communications, public affairs or professional services organization
  • Strong financial acumen, including forecasting, pipeline management and growth planning

The salary range for this role starts at $180,000 including both commission and bonus eligibility.
