About Preston High School

Founded in 1947 by the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, Preston High School is a Catholic, collegeโ€‘preparatory school committed to educating young women to become compassionate leaders, critical thinkers, and agents of positive change. As we enter an exciting new chapter as an independent Catholic high school, we are seeking a dynamic, missionโ€‘driven Head of Recruitment to lead our enrollment strategy and strengthen our presence across the Bronx and greater New York City.

This role is central to advancing the school's longโ€‘term sustainability and growth objectives.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in enrollment management, student recruitment, or community engagement-preferably within Catholic or independent schools-and thrives in a missionโ€‘driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Enrollment Strategy

  • Develop and implement a multiโ€‘year recruitment plan aligned with Preston's strategic growth goals.
  • Lead outreach efforts to Catholic elementary schools, parish communities, middle schools, and local organizations.
  • Oversee all admissions events, including open houses, tours, shadow days, and acceptedโ€‘student programming.
  • Manage the full admissions cycle from inquiry to enrollment.
  • Manage Recruitment Office and personnel
  • Facilitate and supervise TACHS Prep Programs

Community Engagement & Partnerships

  • Build strong relationships with feeder schools, pastors, principals, guidance counselors, and community partners.
  • Represent Preston at fairs, parish events, and community gatherings.
  • Serve as a visible ambassador of Preston's mission, values, and academic programs.

Data, Reporting & Forecasting

  • Track and analyze recruitment metrics, conversion rates, and enrollment trends.
  • Provide regular reports to the Principal, Board, and leadership team.
  • Use data to refine strategy and ensure progress toward annual enrollment targets.

Marketing & Communications Collaboration

  • Ensure consistent messaging across digital, print, and community channels.
  • Contribute to the development of recruitment materials and campaigns.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5โ€“7 years of experience in enrollment management, admissions, recruitment, or related fields (Catholic or independent school experience strongly preferred).
  • Deep understanding of Catholic education and commitment to Preston's mission.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and publicโ€‘speaking skills.
  • Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding enrollment or recruitment targets.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for recruitment events.

Enrollment Growth Objectives & Incentive Structure

The Head of Recruitment will play a pivotal role in advancing Preston's multiโ€‘year enrollment strategy. Annual targets and yearโ€‘overโ€‘year growth expectations of 5 to 6% year-over-year.

Compensation

Preston High School offers a competitive compensation package consistent with norms across the Archdiocese of New York and independent Catholic schools.

  • Salary Range: $65,000-$80,000 commensurate with experience.
  • Annual Performance Incentive: Based on achievement of enrollment growth targets.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health, retirement, and tuition remission opportunities.

Incentive Bonus Structure

To recognize and reward exceptional performance, the Head of Recruitment will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus tied directly to the achievement of approximately 5-6% year over year enrollment growth targets.

  • Bonuses will be tiered, with higher payouts for meeting or exceeding the annual percentage growth goals.
  • Incentives will be awarded following verification of final enrollment numbers each fall.
  • This structure is designed to reinforce Preston's longโ€‘term sustainability while celebrating the measurable impact of the Head of Recruitment's leadership.
