Job Description
  • Generate detailed earthwork, utility, and E&S control take-offs
    based on an accurate reading of blueprints, geotechnical reports,
    requests for proposals and related documents and transfer data into HCSS
    HeavyBid software for review with the estimating team.
  • Correspond with clients, customers, engineers, subcontractors,
    suppliers and other necessary entities in order to submit a complete bid
    package.
  • Create Initial Project Schedules for Submission with Proposals as requested by the clients/customers.
  • Help transition successful estimates/awarded projects to the
    Project Management and Operations Teams. This typically requires
    involvement in all project buyout and setup operations during the
    initial phase of the project. Estimators and Project Managers work hand
    in hand during this process to help facilitate a smooth transition and
    successful project.
  • Upkeep of the estimating logs and other process-tracking documents for review.
  • Negotiate with Clients, Customers, Subs and Suppliers as needed
  • Work within our Delmarva Family as a valued member of the Management Team

Qualifications
  • Experience: 3+ Years of Experience in Estimating for Civil Construction
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in an Applicable Field of Study
  • Reviews bid package documentation, plans and proposal specifications to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate for RFP's, RFI's and subcontractor quotes.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in order to meet project deadlines.
  • Work Overtime/Weekends to meet project deadlines.
  • Strong detail orientation and analytical skill.
  • Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task a variety of projects/tasks simultaneously.
  • Read and scale civil engineering plans.
  • Understand the importance of quality and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with the following programs: HCSS HeavyBid, AGTEK, Adobe Pro or Bluebeam Review, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Suite
