Position Description
The successful candidate will teach primarily in the on campus BSW program and as needed in the fully online MSW program in the Social Work Department. The position will include teaching social work courses in areas such as HBSE, policy, research, and practice with an opportunity to develop and teach elective social work courses in an area of expertise. The BSW program is offered at our St. David's campus.

Position Responsibilities
  1. Teach courses assigned in a30-credit load.
  2. Assist in the development of course curriculum.
  3. Assist with coordinating placements within the internship program.
  4. Advise BSW students.
  5. Participate in the admissions and interview process for future students.
  6. Help develop the academic, social and spiritual dimensions of students.
  7. Pursue a scholarly agenda of inquiry, presentation, and publication.
  8. Uphold the vision of the Social Work Department.
  9. Supports the continuous development of the Social Work Department.
  10. Honor the NASW Code of Ethics.
  11. Maintain compliance with CSWE accreditation standards.

Qualifications
  1. MSW from a CSWE accredited program.
  2. Minimum of two years of post-MSW practice experience.
  3. Thorough knowledge of the CSWE competencies.

The Social Work Department has five full-time faculty. The BSW program has been accredited by CSWE since 1974 and MSW program is also fully accredited by CSWE. The Social Work Department at Eastern University educates and prepares students to be competent advanced generalist (MSW) social work practitioners who are knowledgeable, skilled, and compassionate representatives of God's mercy and justice in meeting common human needs with particular attention to vulnerable and oppressed populations and communities.

Part-time Regular staff who are scheduled 30-36 hours per week over the course of a year, receive a full benefit package based on their part-time scheduled hours. Adjunct faculty may be eligible for medical coverage under the ACA after an annual one year lookback review.
Part-time staff who are scheduled to work less than 30 hours per week schedule are eligible for employer contribution towards the retirement plan after one year of employment. Eligibility rules apply. Adjunct faculty may make employee deferral contributions towards the retirement plan.
Part-Time Graduate Assistant Coaches are eligible for participation in the Tuition Remission Coaches Program.
Temporary, Contractors and Seasonal Employees: Individuals in this status are scheduled on an as-needed-basis and are not eligible for participation in the University's benefits programs.
