If you’re a seasoned ship repair estimator ready to lead a department, drive business development, and oversee complex Navy and commercial bid packages, this is a high-impact leadership opportunity in a fast-paced marine environment.

What You’ll Do

Lead and manage the daily operations of the Estimating Department.

Supervise and mentor a team of Sr. Estimators, Estimators, Procurement Specialists, and support staff.

Develop and implement standardized estimating and proposal processes.

Assign, delegate, and monitor estimating tasks to ensure deadlines are met.

Perform final review and approval of complex cost estimates and bid packages.

Respond to RFPs, interpret technical drawings, conduct ship checks, and develop pricing strategies.

Negotiate contract changes and manage change orders.

Collaborate with executive leadership, vendors, subcontractors, and consultants.

Support business development efforts and identify new opportunities.

Plan future staffing needs and stay current on industry developments.

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).

10+ years of ship repair or marine industry experience.

5+ years of management experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of Navy vessels, NAVSEA standards, ship construction methods, and government contracts.

Advanced estimating strategy and proposal writing experience.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and federal contracts.

Experience with work sequencing and scheduling.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project (or similar scheduling software).

Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.

Requirements

U.S. Citizenship (clearance/base access required).

Valid Hawaii REAL ID-compliant driver’s license (Class 3 or higher) or valid U.S. Passport plus Hawaii driver’s license.

Ability to obtain and maintain TWIC and DBIDS credentials.

Must pass post-offer drug screening and background check.
