Sous Chef – Premium Casual Concept

Location: Woodbridge, VA

This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on culinary leader with experience in premium, chef-driven restaurants who thrives on quality, consistency, team development, and creating outstanding guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

·         Lead back-of-house operations during assigned shifts, supervising a team of 6–10 culinary professionals to ensure flawless execution.

·         Maintain the highest standards for recipe adherence, plate presentation, and food quality in a fully scratch kitchen environment.

·         Train, coach, and mentor line cooks and prep staff while fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.

·         Partner with the Executive Chef on menu development, inventory management, purchasing, and food cost controls.

·         Enforce all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations to maintain a spotless and compliant kitchen.

·         Work closely with front-of-house leadership to deliver a seamless and memorable guest experience.

Qualifications & Experience

·         Proven experience as a Sous Chef or senior culinary leader within a premium, full-service restaurant environment.

·         Background in upscale steakhouses, seafood concepts, or chef-driven restaurants strongly preferred.

·         Demonstrated success leading culinary teams in a fast-paced, high-volume operation.

·         Passion for high-quality ingredients, culinary technique, and operational excellence.

·         Strong understanding of food cost management, inventory controls, scheduling, and labor management.

·         ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
