Company Description
Oceans, Reefs & Aquariums (ORA®) produces aquacultured saltwater fish, invertebrates, and live aquarium foods for the marine aquarium hobby. The ORA hatchery complex is located at Florida Atlantic University's Harbor Branch Campus in Ft. Pierce, Florida. ORA is the largest marine ornamental hatchery in North America and we are constantly developing new techniques to bring the finest captive bred specimens to environmentally conscientious aquarists throughout the world. Aquacultured marine life is the only alternative to wild caught fish and invertebrates for aquariums.
Job Description
The primary responsibility of this entry-level position is caring for marine ornamental fish.
Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Assist in daily fish hatchery operations.
2. Feed and care for fish in various stages of development.
3. System maintenance including tank and filter cleaning.
4. Monitoring and recording of water quality parameters.
5. Maintaining fish health and adhering to strict biosecurity protocols.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  1. Experience with Aquaculture or tropical fish is a plus.
  2. High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  3. Flexible schedule, may include weekends.
  4. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  5. Willing to work in a hot and humid environment.
