HATCHERY SPECIALIST

DATE POSTED:  JULY 20TH, 2026

DATE WILL CLOSE: July 27th, 2026

DEPT: HATCHERY

SHIFT: DAYS- 5:30AM – 4:00PM

LOCATION: SAUK RAPIDS AND ST. CLOUD

PAY: starts at $20.11/hour

POSITION SUMMARY:  The Hatchery Specialist/Monitoring Assistant specializes in proper Hatcher cleaning and performance.  Assists in the Hatchery monitoring program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Washes and disinfects hatchers between hatches.
  2. Prepares the machines for the next transfer, coordinating cleaning with early transfer crew.
  3. Helps load eggs into incubators.
  4. Assists in washing the incubators and farm racks when necessary.
  5. Responsible for proper operation of the hatchers.
  6. Informs the Hatchery manager/Maintenance of inadequate hatchery operation.
  7. Performs all other tasks as directed.
  • 8. Other duties as required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS and BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Observe & enforce all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies.
  • Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with customers, clients, coworkers, and leadership teams.
  • Participates in process improvement and problem solving utilizing continuous improvement and rational thinking methodologies.
  • Recognizes and acts on incidents and safety risks.  Consistently practices, and enforces safe work habits and drives those habits throughout the organization.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

  • Knowledge of hatchers and Incubation.
  • Must have an ability to adapt overflow amidst changing schedules and efficiently accommodate both pull and transfer schedule.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of unknowns.
