The Harm Reduction Worker is responsible for helping with the daily operations of Evergreenโ€™s Drop-In Services, including the provision of services in a non-judgmental manner, such as coordinating showers, laundry, food and beverage, and individual and group support. This role ensures that services are provided smoothly, in a safe environment, and are tracked appropriately

As part of the essential functions of this role, the Harm Reduction Worker:


  • Provides direct patient services in the Drop-In Center
  • Takes initiative on warmly greeting patients, patient intake, hospitality services, coordinating shower and laundry services, and creating, implementing, and facilitating groups
  • Documents patient interactions in the electronic health record (EHR) and actively collaborates with other providers and departments within EHS
  • Adheres to company policy regarding documentation standards and completion timeframes
  • Assists patients in identifying personal goals and follows up regularly to assess readiness to address their stated goals


Qualified candidate will have an Associate degree in public health or related field, or two years of experience working with at-risk populations; ability to travel between office locations as needed; have and maintain a current and valid NYS driverโ€™s license, verified thought the NYS LENS system; excellent verbal and written communication skills; awareness of and sensitivity to the issues and health disparities faced by underserved populations is essential


Job type: Full-time

Required Education or Experience: Associate degree in public health or related field, or two (2) years of experience working with at-risk populations

Required License: current and valid NYS driverโ€™s license, verified thought the NYS LENS system

This position is posted with a salary range. The actual rate of pay offered will be based on a variety of individualized factors, including but not limited to a candidateโ€™s skills, relevant experience, educational background, internal equity, and market considerations.
