Job description

Job Overview:
  • Responsible for supporting datacenter hardware operations including server decommissioning, hardware break/fix activities, NVMe/SSD installation, and rack-level infrastructure builds.ย 
  • The role involves troubleshooting hardware issues, maintaining asset accuracy, and supporting datacenter deployment and configuration tasks in a large-scale environment.

Requirement/Must Have:

  • Experience working in datacenter or infrastructure support environments.
  • Strong knowledge of server hardware components and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to diagnose hardware issues using logs and system tools.
  • Experience handling storage devices such as NVMe/SSD.
  • Ability to work with racks, servers, and physical infrastructure equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and manufacturer guidelines.

Experience:

  • Experience with server hardware break/fix support.
  • Experience performing hardware installation and decommissioning tasks.
  • Experience working with components such as HDD, SSD, DIMMs, PSUs, NICs, and fans.
  • Experience in datacenter environments supporting rack and server builds.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and incident tracking.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare server nodes and chassis for decommissioning.
  • Perform server hardware break/fix troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Install NVMe/SSD devices into specified server nodes.
  • Diagnose hardware faults including HDDs, DIMMs, PSUs, fans, and NICs.
  • Review and manage ticket queues for hardware issues.
  • Use BMC, SEL, and OS logs for hardware diagnostics.
  • Perform network and power fault remediation including cable and component replacement.
  • Follow parts request and RMA processes for hardware replacement.
  • Maintain accurate ticket documentation including root cause and resolution details.
  • Document hardware installation including serial numbers and asset tracking updates.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Rack Distribution Units (RDUs).
  • Support pod/MBU builds including rack assembly and switch installation.
  • Unpack, install rails, and mount switches in server cabinets per specifications.

Should Have:

  • Experience with large-scale datacenter infrastructure operations.
  • Knowledge of asset tracking systems and hardware lifecycle management.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced production environments.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
