Job description

Job Title: Senior Scheduler (Scheduler III)

Location: Harbor-UCLA Medical Center located at 1000 W Carson St, Torrance, CA 90502

Client: Los Angeles County Department of Public Works

Pay Range: $155,000-168,000/year plus benefits

Anticipated Start Date: ASAP

Project Duration: Expected to be completed Fall 2027


About the Project: The Harbor UCLA replacement is a $1.7B multiyear program. The program consists of various small, medium and large projects. The current HUCLA medical center hospital is not compliant with the state mandate seismic code, and therefore a need for replacement new hospital. In addition, there will be outpatient, support building, parking structure/surface lots, central utility plant, 12KV/66KV substation and utility corridor projects. The scoping documents are complete and initial demolition/ move management has already started and the major D/B procurement is underway. The entire program is scheduled to finish fall 2027.

Daily Responsibilities:

As a Scheduler III, youโ€™ll support scheduling operations across the program while collaborating with senior schedulers, program managers, and contractors. This is a hands-on scheduling role with leadership potential. Responsibilities include:

  • Updating and maintaining detailed program schedules using Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Supporting cost and resource loading across various project schedules.
  • Running reports on schedule performance, including cash flow forecasts and earned value metrics.
  • Reviewing contractor baseline and monthly schedule updates.
  • Assisting with the preparation of โ€œwhat-ifโ€ scenarios to assess schedule risk and resequencing impacts.
  • Performing preliminary Time Impact Analysis (TIA) reviews and collaborating on delay resolution.
  • Helping to maintain schedule standards, templates, and controls documentation.
  • Participating in status update meetings and coordination sessions.
  • Supporting senior staff with quality assurance checks on scheduling deliverables.
  • Assisting with change order evaluation related to time and schedule implications.
  • Coordinating closely with cost control and document management teams.

Required Qualifications (Experience, Education, Certifications, Clearances, etc.):

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 5โ€“7 years of scheduling experience on large-scale vertical construction projects.
  • Proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam or other project review tools.
  • Experience supporting projects of at least $50 million in value.
  • Strong understanding of CPM scheduling concepts and construction sequencing.
  • Ability to support multiple phases or packages within a broader program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working on OSHPD/HCAI-regulated medical facility projects.
  • Experience with healthcare or public-sector building programs preferred.
  • Working knowledge of earned value and forensic schedule analysis.
  • Exposure to utility and infrastructure coordination within large-scale sites.
  • Ability to collaborate in a joint venture or multi-partner delivery model.
  • Comfortable mentoring junior staff or coordinating small scheduling teams.
