Job description

Overview Invitation Homes, a publicly traded REIT specializing in single‐family rentals, is seeking an HAP Accountant to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and program compliance. Responsibilities Provide financial data for RTA packets and extract payment information from the Resident Access Housing Authority portals. Create receipt batches in Yardi to apply HAP payments. Research HAP and Resident accounts receivable balances on the Resident ledger to verify accuracy of payment application. Communicate with property management field personnel and HAP authorities to resolve discrepancies and share correspondence. Review HAP contracts and resident leases to verify charges. Conduct monthly audits to ensure program compliance. Qualifications BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field. Preference for candidates with real‐estate development, hospitality or property‐management experience. Minimum of two (2) years of relevant accounting experience. Knowledge of HUD policies and regulations. Proficiency with Yardi property‐management software. Intermediate Excel user capable of exporting and creating reports. Entry‐level knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Analytical ability to interpret complex issues and determine root causes. Organized, flexible, and able to prioritize multiple projects in a fast‐paced environment. Accuracy and audit/reconciliation skills to maintain data integrity. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $23.78 - $41.22 per hour, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.
