Job description

Job Title: Production Specialist

Employment Type: Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

Location: On-Site, Clarksville, TN

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the quality of the Plates coming off the production floor and making sure they meet the company specific specifications. Stop the line and notify supervisor of any quality issues found on the line. Spec Techs report directly to supervisor and are a set of eyes for the supervisors to watch out for bad product.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Ensure good quality batteries are coming through production lines.
    1. Post Height at COS and end of line.
    2. Plates easily removed.
    3. Post quality after burner.
    4. Cover melt quality.
    5. Separator quality, length and burning.
    6. Strap thickness and reverse strap.
    7. Battery polarity.
    8. Check strap weld.
    9. Check lug brush status – change or good.
    10. Check flux on lugs and level.
    11. How many plates per group vs order.
    12. Spare tooling is inventoried/ cleaned and ready for change overs

  • Ensure the production numbers are up to expectations of Hankook
  • Ensure downtime is managed and notified supervisor/ maintenance right away
  • Ensure training of all positions on the line are up to expectations of Hankook
  • Continuously monitor the lines for adjustments on quality, speeds and all around best for Hankook to improve little by little.
  • Follow specifications set forth by Hankook
  • Follow all safety and hygiene procedures set forth by Hankook
  • Enable effective communication between management and operators
  • Maintain a clean and safe work place in accordance with 5S protocol
  • Investigate and report all incidents (spills, accidents, poor performance)
  • Perform related duties and assigned or as the situation dictates

Education & Experience:

  • HS diploma or equivalent and some college is required
  • Experience within a health and safety role in a private sector or regulatory environment

Required Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Quality Control specifications (will be trained on by Hankook)
  • Five years Manufacturing Experience
  • Three years mechanical and troubleshooting skills Experience
  • One year experience with computers and HMI screens.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Basic math skills

Physical demands and work environment: Physical demands may include but not limited to the following:

  • Must be able to climb stairs, stand for extended periods of time and safely lift 100lbs
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective safety equipment for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to act professionally at all time while representing the company
  • Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing plant campus, general office environments, production areas, and occasionally ascend/descend stairs.
  • Must be able to operate a computer and other office machinery.
  • Must be able to position self to file documents including the top and bottom drawers of file cabinets.
  • Must be able to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to take and pass Lead Exam
  • Must be able to work night shift 6pm -6am (2-2-3 rotation)

  • Some local travel to attend hiring events will be required
