About This Role

Masterโ€™s Garden Preschool is seeking a part-time Half-Day Preschool Assistant Teacher for the 2026โ€“2027 school year, beginning in August 2026. This position supports the Lead Teacher in providing Christ-centered care, supervision, and engaging learning experiences for preschool-aged children in our Half-Day program. The Half-Day program follows the Orange County Schools calendar for the 2026โ€“2027 school year. This is a part-time, school-year position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AMโ€“1:00 PM, with holidays and summers off.


What You'll Do
  • Assist the Lead Teacher with the daily operation of the Half-Day preschool classroom
  • Help provide a warm, caring, and engaging classroom environment
  • Support children through daily activities, play, learning, and creative exploration
  • Encourage childrenโ€™s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and healthy classroom environment
  • Follow classroom safety and sanitation procedures at all times
  • Assist with classroom routines, transitions, and supervision of children
  • Support curriculum activities and help create meaningful, developmentally appropriate learning experiences
  • Provide extra support and care for individual children as needed
  • Partner with families in a positive and encouraging manner
  • Model respectful, loving, and Christ-centered behavior toward children, families, and co-workers
  • Participate in classroom planning and team collaboration
  • Attend staff meetings and training as requested
  • Assist with other preschool duties as directed by the Lead Teacher or Director
  • Arrive on time and consistently follow the established work schedule

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
  • Genuine interest in early childhood development
  • Understanding of basic safety and sanitation practices
  • Strong communication skills with tact, patience, and kindness
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain a positive, caring, and professional attitude
  • Must be a follower of Jesus Christ, seeking to live under His Lordship
  • Must support the mission of Masterโ€™s Garden Preschool and Christian education
