Job description

A Service Technician at Family Farm and Home is expected to maintain outstanding customer service and maintain our excellent reputation for service and repair of brands including Briggs and Stratton, Husqvarna, Snapper, Honda, Generac, and other brands sold at Family Farm and Home.  A Service Technician will also be asked with additional and specialized duties that include assessing repair needs, consulting with customers, estimating pricing and delivery, and overseeing the repair department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities, Include but are not limited to: 

A.    Promote Family Farm and Home mission statement and family values.
B.    Take in, diagnose and repair 2 and 4 cycle engines including the following brands; Briggs and Stratton, Kohler, Kawasaki, Powermore, and Husqvarna
C.    Take in, diagnose and repair carburetors and fuel injection systems
D.    Diagnose and repair outdoor power equipment such as air compressors, power washers and chainsaws
E.    Repair go carts, UTVs, and ATVs sold at Family Farm and Home
F.    Diagnose and repair the following brands of CVT and hydraulic transmissions; HydroGear, Tuff Torq
G.    Diagnose and repair hydraulics
H.    Ensure that the repair department is performing to the expectations of the Store Manager.
I.    Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
J.    Execute the daily operational, day¬ to ¬day goals, and priorities assigned by store management.
K.    Assist in the training and development of peers.
L.    Assist in loading customer purchases.
M.    Assist in assemblies of power equipment, BBQ grills, and other products as needed by management 
N.    Uphold merchandising and store cleanliness standards.
O.    Participate in the processing of new shipments and help the team to keep the receiving and back stock area clean and organized.
P.    Be aware of and respond to safety issues.
Q.    Aid customers in locating merchandising in store, on Family Farm and Home supported internet, as well as processing special orders.
R.    Solicit customers to open a Family Farm and Home Loyalty card.
S.    Answer customers’ questions and provide information on procedures and policies. 
T.    All other duties as assigned by store management or company official.
Service Technician Requirements: 
A Family Farm and Home Service Technician must have a minimum of 1 year experience with small engine repair and outdoor power equipment repair.   They will also need welding and 12 volt wiring skills in order to be a Service Technician.  A Service Technician must also have sales and marketing experience with retail programs.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations as well as the ability to multitask is necessary.    They will also need to demonstrate a commitment to excellent service and customer satisfaction.  A Service Technician must contribute to a positive working environment for all team members.  A Manufacturer’s certification is a plus for a Service Technician.  A Service Technician must have knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word and Excel would be a plus.  They must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.  They must be able to lift 65 pounds frequently to load and unload customer order as well as stand for an extended period of time.  A successful Service Technician must also be able to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store.Â
