What are gymnastics?

Gymnastics is a sport that involves exercises requiring balance, strength, flexibility, agility, coordination, and endurance. It includes various disciplines such as artistic, rhythmic, trampoline, and acrobatic gymnastics. Participants perform routines on different apparatus like the balance beam, uneven bars, rings, and floor. Gymnastics is both a competitive and recreational sport, suitable for all ages and skill levels. It helps improve physical fitness and is widely practiced around the world.

Gymnastics coaches often work with athletes ranging from beginners to advanced competitors, which can present challenges in tailoring training plans, providing individualized feedback, and maintaining motivation across the group.
