Living Free Psychotherapy Center is on the lookout for dedicated and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Counselors to join our exceptional team. This full-time, remote position allows you to provide vital therapeutic support to a diverse clientele through telehealth services. You will engage in meaningful evaluations, collaborative treatment planning, and both individual and group therapy sessions to enhance mental health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough preliminary interviews, accurately documenting client cases from initial consultation through the course of treatment.
  • Evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health to understand their unique needs and challenges.
  • Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring alignment with best practices in psychotherapy.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions effectively, using evidence-based methodologies to promote psychological growth and healing.
  • Monitor client progress throughout treatment, making timely adjustments to intervention plans as necessary to improve outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionalsโ€”including psychiatrists, social workers, and nursesโ€”to create comprehensive intervention strategies.
  • Provide follow-up care for clients who may require hospitalization, maintaining open communication with attending physicians.
  • Assist family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges, providing them with resources and support.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse patient population that includes individuals experiencing various mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. By tailoring your therapeutic approach to meet the specific needs of each client, you will play a critical role in helping them find effective coping strategies and achieve lasting well-being.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California.
  • A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Proficient in utilizing electronic health record systems, with preference for experience with AVATAR.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and compassionately.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience as a mental health counselor in a clinical setting.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with clients facing underlying physical and emotional health conditions, as well as those with addiction disorders.
  • Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and ethical guidelines.
  • In-depth understanding of the side effects and interactions of medications prescribed by medical specialists.
  • Cultivated interpersonal skills and a genuine empathetic nature to build trusting relationships with clients.
