  • Manage contract matters end-to-end, including drafting, negotiation, stakeholder alignment, escalation of material risks, and final execution.
  • Advise product, technology, information security, marketing, sales, finance, operations, compliance, and executive stakeholders on practical legal and business issues.
  • Support legal review of technology, privacy, data security, data use, vendor management, partner obligations, regulatory, compliance, and operational matters.
  • Provide legal support for strategic business initiatives, product launches, new partnerships, and technology development.
  • Advise on consumer financial services, advertising and marketing, intellectual property, corporate governance, and risk management matters as they arise.
  • Support negotiation of enterprise customer agreements, strategic partnerships, reseller relationships, and data licensing arrangements.
  • Assist with corporate governance matters, including board materials, corporate records, subsidiary maintenance, and internal policies as needed.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel on litigation, employment, intellectual property, regulatory, and other specialized legal matters.
  • Monitor changes in applicable laws and regulations affecting financial technology, consumer financial services, privacy, artificial intelligence, and technology businesses, and provide practical guidance to internal stakeholders.
  • Help develop and deliver legal training to business teams regarding contracting, privacy, compliance, marketing, and other legal topics.
  • Develop and improve legal templates, contract playbooks, clause libraries, approval workflows, and scalable legal operations practices.
  • Use legal contract management software and help optimize legal technology tools, including AI-enabled tools for contract review, workflow management, and legal department efficiency.
  • Assist with regulatory and compliance-related contract issues involving privacy, data security, consumer protection, and financial technology.

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar, California preferred.
  • At least 7 years of relevant legal experience.
  • Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiation experience.
  • Experience managing contracts and legal matters from start to finish.
  • Experience using legal contract management software.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams in a technology or regulated business environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple priorities and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
  • Strong business judgment, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize material legal risk.
  • Ability to explain legal concepts clearly to non-lawyers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Ability to work in person in Irvine, California.

Additional Preferred Qualifications
