Job description

Business Development Manager (Insurance Restoration)
Littleton, Colorado
Base $75,000 to $125,000 depending on experience, plus uncapped commission, profit sharing, and performance incentives. There is no ceiling on what a strong closer can earn here, and top performers grow their total comp materially through new business and account growth.
If you build relationships for a living and you are tired of a comp plan that caps what you can earn, keep reading. This is a business development seat where the network you build and the pipeline you generate translate straight into your paycheck. You will own your calendar, your accounts, and your outcomes. Nobody is going to hand you a daily to-do list, and you would not want them to.
About Spyder
Spyder is a full-service general contractor specializing in large-loss insurance restoration, structural repairs, capital improvements, and roofing for commercial and multi-family properties. We are authentic, disciplined, and gritty, and we deliver every time. Clients trust us, our people choose us, and our reputation earns respect across the industry.
The Opportunity
You are the relationship engine that fuels our Project Directors. You find and qualify the right opportunities, build genuine long-term relationships across the insurance restoration world, and protect our estimating team's time by making sure only real, well-qualified work reaches their desks. This is a hunter's role with a builder's mandate, working alongside our Sales Manager and Senior Project Directors on the accounts that matter most.
What You Will Do
  • Generate and qualify leads for our Project Directors, so their estimation time goes to real opportunities and not noise.
  • Build long-term relationships with adjusters, brokers, carriers, consultants, engineers, and property stakeholders.
  • Keep a pulse on account health across your book, spotting growth early and flagging risk before it becomes a problem.
  • Partner with the Sales Manager and Senior Project Directors to focus effort on high-value, strategic accounts.
  • Represent Spyder at industry events like IFMA, BOMA, and similar, and turn connections into real pipeline instead of a stack of business cards.
  • Run disciplined discovery, then hand off to Project Directors with full context on the need, the players, and the decision criteria.
  • Track your relationship activity and pipeline in our CRM, and report on what is actually working.

You Will Thrive Here If
  • You are energized by meeting people and turning conversations into opportunities.
  • You are a self-starter who is curious by nature. You seek to learn and find the truth, and a handed-down checklist would bore you.
  • You have the backbone to practice healthy confrontation and say no to poor-fit work that would waste the team's time.
  • You take ownership of pipeline quality, not just activity, and you measure yourself by what converts.

What You Bring
  • 3+ years in B2B business development or complex sales, with a track record of generating and qualifying opportunities that turned into revenue.
  • Relationships across the commercial insurance restoration world (adjusters, brokers, carriers), or a demonstrated ability to build them fast. Existing insurance-restoration relationships are a major advantage.
  • Comfort with CRM systems, pipeline discipline, and account health monitoring.
  • Excellent communication and the ability to build rapport quickly with stakeholders at every level.
  • Willingness to learn construction and restoration terminology, processes, and market dynamics.
  • Familiarity with IFMA, BOMA, or similar professional organizations is a plus.

How We Work
  • Own the Outcome. Start it, finish it, own it. No excuses, no passing the buck.
  • Deliver Consistently. Maintain our standard, every time, everywhere.
  • Forge Real Relationships. Be authentic and earn trust that can handle both the good and the hard.
  • Stay Gritty, Keep Growing. Push through the hard, learn from every challenge, and rise together.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Base salary of $75,000 to $125,000 based on experience and qualifications
  • Uncapped commission plan, profit sharing, and performance-based incentives
  • Full health coverage: medical, dental, and vision
  • Company-paid life insurance for all regular employees
  • 401(k) with 4% company match
  • Generous paid time off and sick leave
  • Optional accident and critical illness protection plans
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for confidential counseling and support
