Ripple Effect Consulting is seeking a Project Engineer for our Denver, CO, Land Development team. This position will be accountable for project performance, planning, design and ensuring quality control on commercial, residential, and industrial projects while collaborating and mentoring within a team. The focus will be carrying out and completing multiple project assignments through all project phases.
Requirements

Responsibilities​

  • Responsible for the engineering design and production including site layout, grading operations, utility infrastructure, and detention pond plans with an emphasis on residential subdivisions and commercial developments. Responsible for the preparation and oversight of applicable reports, calculations, and modeling programs.
  • Planning, scheduling, and coordinating work product through all project phases independently and on schedule. Including coordination of the project with review agencies and multiple project leads.
  • Assists in the preparation of improvement plans, specifications, supporting documents, and permit applications for subdivisions, multifamily developments, commercial developments, and public works projects.
  • Review work from Design Engineers to ensure sound and accurate designs, plans, and reports that meet all applicable criteria, client or project goals, and the high standard of quality that REC demands. This includes reviewing construction plans, cost estimates, calculations, models, and reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Act as a mentor and oversee design engineer's work product and coordinate work assignments. Provide meaningful direction, training, and guidance to younger staff to grow their knowledge and tool sets to build a strong team atmosphere and working relationships.
  • Attend occasional project meetings and may serve as an additional point of contact with clients, developers, contractors, and review agencies. Act as a liaison between other consultants on the project team from concept through construction (including RFI's & DCN's).
  • Efficient time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong technical expertise in the Civil Engineering design of Land Development projects (commercial, single family residential and multi-family).
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Experience with regulatory agencies, with familiarity with federal, state, and local policies, and possess leadership skills to help grow the team.
  • Experience with project submittal processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and resources in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and associated design software.
  • Broad multi-disciplinary knowledge in civil engineering including land development, transportation, water resources, wastewater, structural, and geotechnical topics.
  • High level knowledge of discipline-related software programs and ability to interpret and summarize technical results and concepts. May include technical knowledge with hydrology, hydraulics, utility design and associated modeling software (StormCAD, CUHP, EPA SWMM, and HEC-RAS experience preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving, conflict resolution, analytical, and time and resource management skills.
Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university (preferred).
  • Current P.E. designation or the ability to obtain within 12 months
  • 5+ years of applicable civil engineering experience
