Job description

The Associate Contracts Manager will have an essential role in the Contracts team, drafting and negotiating a high volume of contracts and a variety of associated agreements for trade books; tracking the status of, and interpreting and advising on, publishing agreements; maintaining contract data; and, performing research projects as needed. This role will require adaptability, strong organizational and communication skills, and precise attention to detail.
What You'll Do:
  • Draft and negotiate varying complex author contracts (including global joint acquisitions agreements, working up to profit sharing agreements) and supplemental documentation including complex amendments
  • Support Macmillan Audio agreements, understanding publisher-specific needs
  • Advise Editors, Publishers, Finance, and other colleagues on deal terms and agency boilerplate
  • Contract terminations
  • Entering and maintaining contract data in Biblio
  • Special projects, as needed

What You'll Bring:
  • Approximately 4-7 years' book publishing contracts experience (in-house or at a literary agency), ability to manage high volume of work with varying complexity

This role has a salary range of $70,000 - $75,000.
This position is classified as remote but is tied to our New York, NY office located at 120 Broadway. Employment is subject to New York State tax withholding under applicable regulations.
