Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Grinder/Lift Truck Driver is responsible for supporting production through safe and efficient material handling and grinding operations. Operates lift trucks, maintains consistent material flow to machines, and ensures proper handling, mixing, and labeling of raw and regrind materials. Grinds scrap parts and runners and ensures proper organization of scrap by resin type. Monitors material levels to prevent production disruptions and records lot traceability. Maintains equipment (including grinders), performs routine inspections, and ensures adherence to safety and housekeeping standards. Keeps work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards while supporting overall production efficiency.

Education Required
Grade 12 or equivalent
Core Competencies
Lift Truck Licence, Grinding Operation, Ability to support physical demands of position
Experience Required
Lift Truck, 1 year in Manufacturing
details of Principal Duties, Activities and Responsibilities
- Deliver material from plant, and AG Simpson to the production floor
- Deliver finished goods from production floor to storage, or AG Simpson
- Deliver containers as required.
- Inspect lift truck and complete daily checklists
- Ensure all regrind containers and gaylords are properly labeled with the correct resin/material identification.
- Know special requirements for sort, containment, and GP 12 when instituted.
- Ensure all aisle ways and emergency exits are obstacle free.
- Ensure all hoppers are full of the appropriate material so machines do not run out of material, and loader boxes are not alarming.
- Record all Material, material must have correct Lot # that is running.
- Sort and process scrap parts and runners according to molding material, including grinding as required
- Inspect all returnable racks for damage and quarantine as required with red tag.
- Strap labeled service boxes and move to warehouse staging area.
- Provide operators with service boxes and skids when scheduled.
- Remove broken or damaged skids to appropriate area outside.
- Clean grinders for material changes and ensure grinders are correctly operating.
- Mix virgin and regrind material.
- Weigh gaylords before returning/staging in warehouse, label accordingly.
- Ensure regrind gaylords & virgin are shoveled regularly.
- Break down empty gaylords.
- Red tag any broken/hazardous bins.
- Ensure all regrind containers and gaylords are properly labeled with the correct resin/material identification.
- Promote continuous improvement in all areas
