Job description

Job Purpose:
The Groundskeeper will be responsible for the maintenance and landscaping of outdoor areas and facilities. This includes caring for plants, gardens, walkways, and decorations for outside spaces.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or general maintenance.
  • Ability to operate landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.).
  • Knowledge of basic lawn care, planting, pruning, and irrigation.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and use protective equipment.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Experience working in a vineyard preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Landscape
  • Contract and maintain grounds around patio, parking lots, and vineyards.
  • Mulch spreading
  • Maintain and trim bushes and trees
  • Replace all unwanted or dead landscape material
  • Plant new landscaping material
  • Complete maintenance on water falls and around pergola
  • Prepare soil for planting, purchase mushroom soil, fertilizer, lime and rototiller
  • Stack firewood where needed
  • Patrol and cleanup all grounds and parking lots every Monday

Grass Cutting
  • Maintain grass and fields throughout facilities
  • Weed and edge all landscaping and parking lots
  • Maintain grass cutting equipment, tractor, gator and sprays

Vineyard
  • Assist Vineyard team in peek vineyard activities

Wedding
  • Set up and take down chairs for outdoor weddings
  • Clean barrels, sidewalks, and Pergola before weddings
  • Clean up grounds and Pergola after weddings

Special Events
  • Complete all festival and seasonal decorating as requested

Key Performance Indicators:
  • Ability to overcome weather, insects, precipitation, environmental issues
  • Is a strong team player and can work across all departments maintaining open and clear communication and support
