Job description

Description Cary's Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources department is looking for a creative and energetic person to join our team as a Senior Administrative Assistant. This position will have the unique opportunity to focus on branding and marketing for our renowned USA Baseball National Training Complex. This role will be essential to managing the National Training Center's website and social media.

If you are someone who is interested in sports marketing and has a desire to put your spin on our branding, then this is the position for you. This position requires a flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings and weekends as needed to assist with events. This is a part-time, non-benefited, year-round position, up to 20 hours a week, with a maximum of 999 hours per year.

Typical Tasks Lead the coordination of marketing, branding, and promotional efforts for programs, rentals, and events Maintain and update assigned web pages with timely, accurate, and engaging content Manage content publication and collaborate with the Public Information team for review when needed. Manage event promotion on game days, including coordinating press box coverage, live event updates, and social media engagement. Collaborate with teams to gather and input information into statistical software for real-time content updates on websites and social media platforms, including Web Stream scheduling.

Oversee the creation, management, and distribution of reports Develop, schedule, and implement marketing strategies for programs Participate in interviews and hiring processes Interpret and communicate departmental policies and procedures to staff, the public, and online audiences, ensuring clarity and consistency in messaging. Respond to inquiries via calls, emails, and social media platforms, addressing questions, complaints, and providing consistent, on-brand information. Attend meetings and help prepare agendas, focusing on the integration of branding and marketing initiatives into broader organizational strategies.

Coordinate the creation and distribution of printed and digital materials (brochures, booklets, social media posts, etc.) that reflect the department's brand and mission. Review and edit all outgoing marketing materials to ensure accuracy, completeness, and brand consistency across all channels. Collect and analyze data related to marketing campaigns, event attendance, and social media performance, providing insights and recommendations for future improvements

Write and distribute routine correspondence, ensuring it aligns with the department's voice and branding guidelines. Contribute regularly to the department's website, blog, and social media channels, including written content, graphics, and updates that engage the community. Operate standard office equipment, including computers and marketing software tools, to assist in content creation and digital marketing efforts.

Maintains website with event information and web streaming opportunities Perform other job-related tasks as required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Comprehensive knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment, and interview techniques. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships. Strong strategic planning and problem-solving abilities.

Effective communication skills for working with the public and internal teams. Ability to supervise personnel and manage multiple tasks. Ability to work independently on confidential and responsible assignments.

Knowledge of departmental policies and procedures, with the ability to interpret and enforce them. Ability to handle technical details related to department policies and procedures. Minimum and Preferred Qualifications Education and Experience Requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communication, Sport Management, Graphic Design, Business Administration, or a related field.

Requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in social media management/marketing. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in any of the following: Some experience in sports marketing Some experience in graphic design/website design. Physical Requirements Work in this class will be a combination of physical work and sedentary in an office environment.

Work requires the ability to see, hear, lift, talk, and the ability to perform the tasks listed above. Work requires dexterity in the hands for typing and operation of standard office equipment. Visual acuity is necessary to read handwritten and typewritten materials and operate a computer terminal.
