About the role
Go Fish is seeking a motivated, curious, and collaborative emerging designer to join our team through an immediate Design Apprenticeship. This opportunity is open to outstanding remote candidates.
As a Design Apprentice, you will work alongside Art Directors, Designers, Strategists, and Copywriters to help create thoughtful, high-impact work for a diverse range of clients. You will gain hands-on experience across brand, digital, print, paid media, and social, while building the craft, confidence, and professional judgment to grow as a designer.
This is a hands-on opportunity to learn within a collaborative agency environment. You will contribute to real client work, receive guidance from experienced creative leaders, and develop your skills through feedback, mentorship, and day-to-day practice.
You will learn how strategic thinking, visual design, writing, and production come together to create cohesive brand experiences across channels.
What you'll do
  • Support Art Directors and Designers in concepting and producing strategic client deliverables across brand identity, UI/UX, print, paid media, and organic social.
  • Create and adapt visual assets that are thoughtful, polished, on-brand, and appropriate for their intended channel.
  • Collaborate with Strategy and Copywriting teams to bring visual and written storytelling together in clear, compelling brand narratives.
  • Participate in creative brainstorms, research, concept development, and design reviews.
  • Support the creative team with internal marketing materials and other strategic projects as needed.
  • Organize files, prepare production-ready assets, and help maintain a high standard of accuracy and quality throughout the design process.
  • Explore approved AI-assisted tools and emerging technologies to support research, ideation, concept exploration, moodboarding, and efficient production workflows.

Skills and Experience You'll Bring and Develop
Design Craft and Tools
  • A portfolio that demonstrates strong visual thinking and a foundation in graphic design, visual communication, marketing, or related work.
  • Working proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • A foundational understanding of typography, color, layout, visual hierarchy, and core design principles.
  • Interest in working across a range of formats, including brand identity, digital design, social media, print, and campaign creative.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted creative workflows, such as using ChatGPT or Claude for research and ideation, and appropriate tools for visual exploration and moodboarding.
  • An ability to evaluate AI-generated outputs critically and use these tools responsibly, with respect for client confidentiality, intellectual property, accessibility, and brand standards.

Collaboration and Growth
  • Currently pursuing, recently completed, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and a genuine desire to develop your design craft.
  • A collaborative, thoughtful approach to feedback and a willingness to ask questions.
  • Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks, communicate progress clearly, and seek support when needed.
