Job Summary
A mission-driven nonprofit organization in Linthicum Heights, MD is seeking a Research/Grants Program Specialist to support research grants, investigator support programs, research education initiatives, and Office of Research operations. This temp-to-hire opportunity is ideal for a highly organized administrative professional with experience supporting programs, meetings, committees, documentation, and cross-functional initiatives.
The Research/Grants Program Specialist will work closely with research leadership and program teams to help coordinate grant administration, professional development workshops, scientific symposia, online course support, reporting, and committee activities. This role offers meaningful exposure to research operations in a collaborative, professional environment with supportive leadership, strong teamwork, and opportunities to contribute to programs that advance education, innovation, and research impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Support research grant program administration, including compliance documentation, progress report collection, awardee payment processing, and official program records.
- Coordinate meetings, committees, councils, and working groups by managing schedules, agendas, attendance, minutes, materials, and follow-up tasks.
- Assist with research education programs, professional development workshops, scientific events, Innovation Nexus programming, and annual meeting preparation.
- Maintain historical databases, calendars, SOPs, program documentation, speaker and reviewer records, and participant information.
- Support communications, website and email promotion, stewardship reporting, presentations, surveys, and program materials.
- Provide general administrative, clerical, analytical, and financial management support to keep Office of Research operations running smoothly.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $62,000 to $65,000 per year.
- Job type: Temp-to-hire.
- Location: Linthicum Heights, MD.
- Schedule requirements include availability for evening conference calls approximately 3 to 6 times per month and weekend support approximately 3 to 5 times per year for special events.
