Job description

This is a hybrid position based in the metro Atlanta area, and candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Applicants should have 2-5 years of prior marketing experience and are required to submit a portfolio or relevant work samples along with their resume.
The Digital Marketing Manager owns all digital channels and performance marketing efforts, with a primary focus on driving traffic, audience growth, and acquisition. This role ensures a cohesive and high-performing digital presence for Atlanta Humane Society, Operation Humane, and Remedy. The ideal candidate is both creative and data driven, with hands-on experience managing digital ad platforms, analyzing marketing performance, and making strategic adjustments to maximize impact.
Duties and Responsibilities
Paid Advertising
  • Develop and manage comprehensive digital advertising strategies across Atlanta Humane Society, Operation Humane, and Remedy.
  • Plan, execute, and optimize paid campaigns including fundraising appeals, brand awareness initiatives, lead generation efforts, event promotion, program support, and more.
  • Manage ad buying and budget allocation to ensure efficient spend and maximum return on investment.
  • Draft compelling ad copy and messaging tailored to target audiences and campaign goals.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to develop high performing ad assets, including graphics, video, and other digital content.
  • Oversee campaign scheduling, audience targeting, and delivery to ensure ads run accurately and on time.
  • Conduct ongoing A/B testing across creative, messaging, audiences, and placements to improve performance.

Google Ad Grant Management
  • Develop, monitor, and optimize Google Search campaigns funded through the grant to support fundraising, adoption promotion, program awareness, and community engagement goals.
  • Ensure adherence to Google Ad Grant policies, including performance benchmarks, account structure requirements, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Conduct keyword research, write and test search ad copy, and adjust targeting to improve results and drive qualified traffic.
  • Track grant performance and provide regular reporting and recommendations to strengthen outcomes across campaigns.

Website Management
  • Lead planning and execution of website updates, including campaign launches, homepage refreshes, and conversion focused elements.
  • Direct and oversee website execution in partnership with the Communications Specialist, providing guidance, prioritization, and quality control.
  • Manage external developers and contractors, including scoping and overseeing larger site updates and enhancements.
  • Monitor website performance and optimize content, structure, and funnels to improve user engagement and conversions.

Performance Monitoring and Analytics
  • Serves as the lead on how audiences are reached and engaged online, partnering closely with the Marketing Engagement Manager to support conversion and revenue goals.
  • Oversee marketing performance tracking across all digital channels.
  • Analyze cross channel data to evaluate campaign effectiveness and identify opportunities for growth and optimization.
  • Develop regular performance reports and dashboards to communicate insights, trends, and recommendations to the marketing team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Digital Marketing Manager supervises the Communications Specialist, setting strategy and priorities for social media and media relations efforts. This role ensures all communications initiatives align with broader marketing goals and contribute to audience growth, engagement, and conversion.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience managing paid digital advertising campaigns, with demonstrated success.
  • Experience using platforms such as Meta Business Suite, StackAdapt, SproutSocial, ClickUp, and/or Salesforce preferred.
  • Previous experience managing and maintaining a Google Ad Grant account, including compliance and campaign optimization.
  • Excellent copywriting skills and ability to develop compelling ad messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Supervisory experience preferred, with the ability to guide and support direct reports.
  • Ability to commute to Atlanta Humane's locations as needed.
  • Passion for animal welfare and alignment with Atlanta Humane Society's mission.
