Job description

As a Grain Merchandiser, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our client's Grain Merchandising efforts. Building upon your experience and proven track record in grain origination or merchandising, you will be responsible for strategic decision-making and managing relationships.


Responsibilities


  • Lead the development and management of relationships with producers and in your territory, leveraging your expertise to foster long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships
  • Proactively engage with existing and prospective customers at a high level, providing advanced marketing insights and solutions that align with business objectives
  • Spearhead customer recruitment initiatives within the trade territory, strategically expanding market share and solidifying the company’s position regionally
  • Oversee the execution of producer contracts for both delivered and FOB purchases, ensuring operational excellence and customer satisfaction
  • Lead and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the company's grain hedging and risk management processes, actively managing the company’s risk positions

Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Business or related field
  • Experience in an Origination or Merchandising role
  • In-depth working knowledge of grain movements, basis patterns, pricing, supply & demand, and risk management strategies
