PAY RANGE: $55,000 to $72,500 / YEAR

What You'll Do
As a Grain Originator, you'll work closely with the Grain Origination Manager to support the daily operations of our grain business while serving as a trusted resource for our customers. Your responsibilities will include:
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with current and prospective grain customers.
- Making farm visits to understand customer needs and identify new business opportunities.
- Monitoring grain markets and competitor bids to help customers maximize their marketing opportunities.
- Quoting grain prices and assisting customers with grain contracts and marketing options.
- Purchasing grain, preparing contracts, processing settlements, and issuing payments.
- Maintaining accurate grain accounting records, contracts, settlements, and reporting.
- Operating grain scales and computer systems while ensuring accurate inbound and outbound grain documentation.
- Testing grain for moisture, test weight, foreign material, and damage.
- Working closely with merchandising, logistics, and elevator teams to coordinate grain movement.
- Supervising seasonal employees during harvest.
- Providing outstanding customer service while maintaining a safe, efficient, and professional work environment.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people just as much as they enjoy agriculture.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Ag Economics, Ag Marketing, Agribusiness, or a related field.
- Knowledge of grain markets, grain marketing, futures, options, and risk management.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer proficiency and experience using business software.
- Leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with teammates across multiple departments.
- Understanding of crop insurance, government programs, and grain industry regulations is a plus.
- Series III License, or the ability to obtain one.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
