Summary

The primary role and responsibility of this position, under the general
direction of the Director of Facilities Project Management or the designated
supervisor is to perform the services of a Construction Project Manager. The
work includes planning, developing and overseeing building MEP projects,
including the design and construction of repairs and renovations/alterations
for existing buildings. Primary project responsibilities include, but are not
limited to general construction projects with heavy emphasis on MEPs; boiler
projects, control projects, elevator projects, utility distribution projects and
projects associated with the Central Heating Plant. In addition, the position
will oversee general construction projects on campus as required.

1. Associate's degree in construction technology, building science or related field and six years of related experience as manager for building renovation or alteration project, or Bachelor's and four years of experience, or combination of education and experience equal to eight years.
2. Knowledge of construction materials, means and methods.
3. Familiarity with building and life safety codes.
4. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
5. Ability to wear/use personal protective equipment as needed on construction site.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, architecture, or related field.
2. Experience in a college/university setting.
3. Demonstrated experience in utility systems, heating hot water, cooling
water systems, steam systems, boilers and elevators required.
4. Strong computer skills (Word/Excel/ Access/Outlook/Internet Explorer).
5. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
6. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and
remain organized.
7. Establish and maintain good customer / contractor relationships.
8. Demonstrated experience with asbestos and PCBs in building
materials, and abatement thereof.
9. Manage Professional Design Consultants and Contractors
