Position: Human Resources Intern 

Department: Human Resources

Primary Objective of Position:

The HR Intern provides day-to-day support to the HR Team, Union and Non-union employees, and management in various HR functions; including recruitment, employee relations, records management, and administrative tasks.  The role offers hands-on experience in HR processes while assisting the team in maintaining efficient and organized HR operations.


Major Areas of Accountability:

Assist and support Human Resources initiatives. 

Support HR Team in meeting hiring targets.

Assist in end-to-end recruitment activities, including sourcing, screening, and scheduling interviews. 

Provide assistance in conducting employment verification checks.

Coordinate and participate in new-hire orientation.

Gather data and create HR documents | Recruitment reports.

Assist and organize training and employee engagement activities.

Create, maintain, and organize employee records.

Create and post HR Communications; Shop and Office environments.

Maintain confidentiality of applicant and company information.

Perform other activities as required by the Human Resources Manager.


Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

>3.0 cumulative overall GPA or better (on a 4.0 scale).

Currently a full-time or part-time student pursuing a degree in Human Resources or a similar discipline at the undergraduate or graduate level.

Good understanding of full-cycle recruiting.

Experience creating documents with MS Office products, including Excel, Word, and Power-point

Energetic, enthusiastic self-starter; able to organize and pursue broad objectives under the guidance of a mentor.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Detail-oriented and highly organized.

Strong people skills and the ability to engage with all employees.

Ability to prioritize and juggle tasks to meet deadlines.

Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment and maintains positive | professional working relationships with all employees, applicants, and HR team members.
