Position Summary
This position will serve as an Associate Clinical Research Coordinator within the the Child and Adolescent Anxiety and Mood Disorders Program (CHAAMP). The Associate Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for the execution of clinical research protocols, including leading efforts in gathering, compiling, and reporting data for a variety of research studies.
CHAAMP is supported by The Foundation of Hope and housed within the UNC School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry, is a multidisciplinary research program focused on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of anxiety and mood disorders in youth. CHAAMP's mission is to transform how we predict, prevent, and intervene when children and adolescents experience mental health challenges. Through innovative research and strong community partnerships, CHAAMP seeks to improve access to effective, evidence-based care and address the growing youth mental health crisis. 
The Associate Clinical Research Coordinator will support a program of research focused on multiple areas, including: (1) digital mental health interventions for the assessment, prevention, and treatment of symptoms indicating risk for serious mental illness; (2) innovative supports for family members; and (3) evaluating the impact of new digital technologies on risk for psychiatric conditions. The Coordinator will help support a multi-method longitudinal study examining generative AI use and cognitive mechanisms in psychosis risk launching this year.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Management Preferences
  • Experience with community-based research, including participant tracking/retention, assisting with semi-structured interviews, facilitating/supporting focus group discussions, managing complex datasets, schedules/logistics, and collecting data via REDCap.
  • Interest in or experience with mental health research, digital health, community-engaged research, public health, or working with underserved, rural, and/or other sensitive populations, with the ability to work effectively across both community-based and remote research settings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication while demonstrating cultural humility and flexibility.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to implement and train others in processes, protocols, and SOPs for research studies.
Required Licenses/Certifications Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Ability to work early evening hours and/or weekend days occasionally to facilitate recruitment and data collection activities.
