The foreman must have experience successfully completing large site work, utilities, earthwork, and grading heavy civil projects, NCDOT, local specifications, and a strong understanding of project plans and OSHA specs. The foreman must also manage a 2—to 4-employee crew while maintaining daily safety and production goals. Do you have an experienced, qualified crew that has been working with you? LET'S TALK!

POSITION: FOREMAN           LOCATION: RALEIGH NC           COMPETITIVE SALARY and Excellent Benefits & Safety Culture! 

General Job Duties/Grade, Utility, and Pipe Foremen:

  • Coordinates and supervises daily activities of a 2 – 4-person Grade/or Utilities crew.
  • Utilizes heavy equipment to excavate grade, and prepare worksite
  • Continually inspects the work site, surveying for potential hazards or safety concerns.
  • Responsible for crew safety. Establishes and maintains a safe work environment that complies with the company safety program
  • Analyzes job cost reports to ensure production is within budget
  • Reviews and approves employee time reporting, tracks equipment and production 
  •  Must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely
  • Material delivery coordination and recording
  • Dutties Vary Other Duties as Assigned

Work Experience, Attributes and/or Education Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years Heavy Civil Foreman Experience Required
  • Read & interpret technical drawings, blueprints
  • Shoot grades and understand layout designs and implementation of the same
  • Ability to use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, eye levels, and transit levels to set appropriate grades for pipe installation
  • Ability to adapt and work effectively with a diverse workforce

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform essential job functions consistently, safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
  • Capable of being certified to enter confined spaces, including climbing into and out of excavations up to 15 feet in depth, using ladders or crawling, as required.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
