Job description

GENERAL SUPERINTENDENT

Raleigh, NC Area

  • 10+ years experience as a Superintendent and/or General Superintendent

As a General Superintendent you will be responsible to plan, direct, coordinate and supervise personnel as well as activities concerned with installation and maintenance of electrical systems and components of multiple projects. The General Superintendent will work with Project Managers,

Field Operation Managers, Safety, BIM, Pre-Fabrication, QA/QC departments to ensure Adams Electric standards and processes are being fulfilled on each project. General Superintendent will help Field Operation Manager to evaluate temporary employees for status with company (Associate vs temporary).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Supervise and direct the electrical work in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines and coordinate with other trades, to ensure compliance with the overall project schedule and contract documents of multiple projects.

Training and Development

  • Assist Field Operation Managers with review process for both Adams employees and associates.

     

    Scheduling

  • Oversight and responsibility for creating and maintaining schedule related to current projects.  This includes organization of current crews and manpower projections throughout the project. 
  • Work with Project Managers and Field Operation Managers to develop field organization chart for project.
  • Work with Project Managers and Field Operation Managers to update schedule and manpower projection weekly.
  • Work with Field Operation Managers to set and track measurable production goals on project for individuals and crews.

 

Material Management / Jobsite logistic      

  • Oversight and responsibility for creating and maintaining material management and logistics plan related to current projects.  This includes defining and managing each piece of the process including, but not limited to, determining material needs, ordering material, receiving material, and organizing material. 
  • Work with Project Managers and Field Operation Managers to develop materials management and jobsite logistic plan prior to the project starting
  • Work with Project Managers and Field Operation Managers and Vendor Partners to implement plan and adjust plan throughout the course of the job.

 

Safety

  • Oversight and responsibility for creating and maintaining Safety plan related to current project(s).  This includes defining and managing each piece of the process including, but not limited to, daily reports, PPE management, accident management, etc. 
  • Work with Onsite Safety Managers to develop safety plan specific to project
  • Work with Field Operation Manager, Onsite Safety Manager, Foreman's to ensure that project is adhering to both the project-specific safety plan and Adams Electric company standards.

 

Quality Control

  • Oversight and responsibility for creating and maintaining QA/QC plan related to current project(s).  This includes defining and managing each piece of the process including, but not limited to, specification and code compliance, internal punch list management, general contractor punch list management and owner/design team punch list management
  • Work with Onsite QA/QC Manager to develop QA/QC plan for a project
  • Work with Field Operation Manager and QA/QC manager to ensure that project is adhering to both project specific QA/QC plan and Adams Electric company standards, testing, and documentation

 

BIM / Design

  • Lead layout efforts for BIM prior to the project along with assistance from foreman
  • Review drawings throughout process to ensure quality control.
  • Work with Project Manages, Field Operation Managers, BIM Manager on development of BIM schedule.
  • in order to ensure that all drawings are delivered and reviewed prior pre-fabrication and onsite installation dates.

 

Pre-Fabrication

  • Oversight and responsibility for creating and maintaining pre-fabrication plan related to current project(s).  This includes determining the appropriate assemblies for project, ensuring assemblies meet specifications for project, managing delivery and installation schedules. 
  • Work with Project Managers, Field Operation Managers, Prefab Foremen, BIM Manager on development of Pre-Fabrication plan schedule in order to ensure that all drawings are delivered and reviewed prior pre- fabrication date


Working Conditions

  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (Hard hat, vest, protective eyewear, safety boots.)
  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors, often exposed to the natural elements of cold, heat, moisture, and wind.
  • Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements and background screening process.
