SUMMARY
JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a work-study student position responsible for assisting in the operations and activities of a department or a departmental project, program, or function.
QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum education required for admittance as a student at Stephen F. Austin State University.
No direct experience is required. Training and instruction will be provided.
A student must be awarded and accept a "Work-Study Permit" for each semester the student will be working.
Prior experience in tutoring or grading is preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  1. Evaluates and grades student homework in accordance with established rubrics and instructor guidelines.
  2. Maintains accurate records of grades and returning work in a timely manner.
  3. Ensures confidentiality and compliance with university policies regarding student information.
  4. Communicates effectively with course instructors regarding grading questions or clarifications.
  5. Helps answer student questions related to course material.
  6. Imports question banks and other course material into D2L.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  1. Performs other related duties as assigned.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANT
This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling (5 to 12 hours/week), subject to coordination with the supervising faculty member.
Two positions are open to fill. Applicant must be available to attend the class they will be supporting, listed below:
AGBS 2361: MWF from 9:00-9:50 am
OR
AGBS 4351 (lecture): MW from 11:00 - 11:50 am
AGBS 4051 (lab): M from 1:00-2:50 pm
SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Student must have received a work-study award. Please reach out to Financial Aid to confirm your eligibility for work-study before you apply.
A student must be enrolled in six or more semester hours to be eligible for student employment during the fall or spring semesters. To be eligible for student employment during the summer, a student must be enrolled in three or more semester hours or be registered for courses in the upcoming fall semester.
Student assistants may not hold any other type of position such as a graduate assistantship or temporary casual employment at the same time that they are employed as a student assistant.
