The GPS Tracking Specialist is responsible for overseeing, managing, and analyzing GPS tracking systems used on racehorses. This role ensures accurate real-time tracking, monitors equine performance data, and supports trainers and racing staff with insights to optimize horse safety, performance, and operational efficiency.

  • Monitor real-time GPS tracking data for racehorses during training sessions and events
  • Ensure all GPS devices are properly installed, functioning, and maintained
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to tracking equipment and software
  • Collect, review, and analyze movement and performance data (speed, distance, stride patterns, etc.)
  • Generate reports and dashboards to support trainers, veterinarians, and racing managers
  • Identify irregularities or potential safety concerns based on GPS data
  • Maintain accurate records of horse tracking data and system usage
  • Collaborate with IT teams or vendors to support system upgrades and enhancements
  • Train staff on proper use of GPS tracking equipment and systems
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and animal welfare standards
  • Provide professional representation at internal and external meetings and events.

  • One to two years prior experience in the Horse Racing Industry.
  • Experience working with horses, preferably in racing or performance environments
  • Familiarity with GPS tracking technologies, wearable devices, or telemetry systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, dashboards, or specialized tracking software)
  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical data to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Must qualify for a license with the Pennsylvania State Racing Commission and meet any credentialing requirements of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
