Job description

Description:
  • Schedule containers for pickup and delivery.
  • Check truck drivers in and out of the yard while assigning loads in order of importance.
  • Administer and process paperwork for drivers.
  • Input data into a yard management system.
  • Communicate with customers to arrange shipments to be picked up and delivered.
  • Alter routes daily as dictated by customer requests and shipment arrangements.
  • Solve problems with the port and shipping lines if drivers have trouble retrieving containers.
  • Communicate with dock personnel about the live loading and unloading for OTR trucks.
  • Coordinate and manage the most efficient loads to remain cost-effective.
  • Monitor drivers' productivity and motivate them to be efficient.
Requirements:


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Outlook, Excel and Teams
  • Experience with GPS monitoring programs.
  • Knowledge and experience with trucking dispatch.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently with drivers and team members.
  • Familiarity with terminal websites.
  • Prior trucking experience.
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation rules and regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
