Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Financial Strategy: Oversee financial accounting and reporting, ensuring timely, accurate statements and compliance with GAAP, governmental regulations, and industry standards.
  • Expertise in Governmental Accounting: Manage complex governmental accounting processes, including milestone payments and FAR compliance, ensuring smooth interactions with federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Drive Compliance & Mitigate Risk: Navigate complex compliance issues, including audits and government regulations, ensuring contracts and financial processes are compliant and efficient.
  • Financial Planning & Forecasting: Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts to guide strategic business decisions, using your insights to influence the company’s financial trajectory.
  • Optimize Operational Profitability: Direct cost accounting initiatives, analyze cost structures, and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Audit Liaison: Coordinate with external auditors and government agencies to ensure timely audits and continued regulatory compliance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with senior management and project teams to align financial processes with business objectives and project goals.

What You Bring:

  • Experience: 8-10 years of experience as a Controller, with 5+ years specifically in manufacturing and managing governmental accounting and compliance.
  • Expertise: In-depth knowledge of financial management in manufacturing, with a strong foundation in governmental accounting practices, including milestone payments and FAR compliance.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, driving high performance and fostering a collaborative, results-driven environment.
  • Analytical Prowess: Strong ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights that support strategic decisions.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for accuracy and compliance.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), financial reporting software, and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
