Job Summary:

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team at our Brewery's headquarters in Paso Robles. The Staff Accountant will play an integral role in our monthly accounting close and will have the opportunity to lead the accounting for much of the Brewery's operations. The successful candidate will enjoy broad exposure to the Brewery's operations and accounting thereof, ranging from brick-and-mortar operations to the Brewery itself-from inventory and fixed assets to leases, sales, and more. This is a dynamic role that calls for a team player who values taking ownership, tackling challenges, and pursuing growth. This is one open role, where the title and compensation will be determined based upon candidate qualifications.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations for various accounting areas including, but not limited to, fixed assets, inventory, cash, prepaid expenses, receivables, and sales

  • Managing certain bank and payment processes

  • Analyzing, investigating, and documenting account and margin variances

  • Review of inventory count sheets, unit conversions, and related adjustments

  • Ongoing process improvement, with a constant goal to improve quality and efficiency

  • Contributing to the preparation of various tax filings and internal reports

  • Maintaining excellent communication, prioritization, and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment

  • Maintaining strong attention to detail, initiative, and a team-oriented desire to help

  • Other duties and projects on an ad hoc basis

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field of study

  • Two or more years of experience in public accounting, in-house accounting, or combination thereof, with increasing responsibility

  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles

  • Experience with an ERP system

  • Experience building and using complex Excel workbooks

  • Experience with work requiring strong attention to detail, communication, and organization

  • Ability to operate and use a PC computer. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs, particularly Microsoft Excel. Proficiency in Business Central andFloQasta plus.

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information pertaining to accounting. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customer, coworkers, and management. Ability to communicate and present information effectively before all levels of employees and management.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Basic finance, budgeting, cost accounting, and accounting skills.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to analyze and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to use logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions.

  • Strong organizational skills. Ability to manage and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
