Job Summary:
PSI (Proteam Solutions) is a company seeking a Senior Oracle DBA to manage and optimize their database environments. The role involves assessing database architecture, leading upgrades, and providing support for both production and non-production databases while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities:
• Assessment of database architecture with recommended strategies, refinements, modifications, and support according to industry standards.
• Assessment and recommendation of Oracle database environments for upgrades and maintenance plans.
• Lead the database upgrade process based on the major version release schedule.
• Recommendations for updates to the detailed design specifications for storage and network configurations required to support several database environments.
• Lead in installation/upgrade, mentoring and configuration of Oracle Database, Real Application Cluster Software, Active Data Guard and Advanced Compression for several applications.
• Install, configure, and administer Oracle Enterprise Manager.
• Install, configure, and administer Oracle RAC DBs version and above, including the design, configuration, and operation of n-node clusters, data recovery, and user/group/role definition.
• Configure physical standby databases and perform switchover/failover activities. Troubleshoot standby and switchover issues.
• Configuration management, performance tuning, and administration of mission-critical production databases.
• Perform schema level and table level data refreshes from Production to Non-Production environments using Data pump EXPDP/IMPDP.
• Monitor database activities such as Backup, Error Logs, Space, Object, Performance, User, and Session monitoring for proper capacity and availability.
• Provide non-production and production support and lead in troubleshooting production issues and application performance issues.
• Review and assess the backup and recovery strategy currently implemented for production and non-production databases and come up with recommendations and lead in implementing the recommendations.
• Work with a development team and lead in tuning applications for better performance.
• Lead ODJFS IT Staff in documenting all database environments and any other tasks assigned as needed based on project needs.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Extensive work experience in Oracle RAC Database Administration.
• Comprehensive background in administration of Oracle Enterprise Manager and physical DBA support in a complex environment.
• Database skills must include Installation/Patching/Upgrade of the OEM, database software on AIX platform, RMAN backup and recovery of the Oracle Database, performance tuning, migration, data guard replication, configuration, and security administration.
• Must have experience in configuration of ACFS snapshot clone process.
• Experience in setting up Active Data Guard with Cascaded standby database setup.
• Good understanding of the Linux/UNIX environments.
• Work experience with OLTP, OLAP, Staging, and Data warehouse configuration.
• Highly specialized in Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c with installation, configuration of emails, alerts, and Metric extensions.
• Highly specialized in Oracle 19c RAC Database Administration and Technical Architecture, including but not limited to database administration, ASM Storage, SCAN Listener, GDS, Gateway, RMAN backup and recovery, Performance Tuning, Database Refreshes from Prod to Lower Environments.
• Expert experience in architecting and implementing Oracle Advanced Security options (ASO) like Encryption TDE, Data Redaction, Unified Auditing, data classification, and security preventive techniques.
• Well experienced on Oracle GoldenGate.
• Strong fundamentals in all aspects of DBA responsibilities.
• Excellent communication skills, customer service, and client management skills.
• Experience of CI/CD database deployment process.
• 8 years experience as an Oracle database administrator.
• 5 years of experience as an Oracle database administrator using AIX (version 7.x or higher) operating system environment.
• 6 years of experience in setting up/building and configuring Oracle RAC.
• 8 years of experience in using the full functionality of RMAN backup utility (e.g., full backup, incremental backup, cloning, restore/recovery) out of which at least 2 years of experience in using RMAN utility.
• 4 years of experience in using/setting up and configuring of physical standby/logical database/data guard.
• 2 years of experience in Active Data Guard (ADG) and data guard broker.
• 8 years of experience in database performance tuning and application SQL tuning out of which at least 3 years of experience in Oracle RAC environment.
• 6 years of experience in using Oracle ASM out of which at 4 years of experience in RAC environment.
• 7 plus years experience and knowledge in supporting applications system development life cycle.
• 7 plus years of experience in performing database upgrade/patches out of which 3 years of experience in Oracle or RAC (primarily in place upgrade/patches Release updates).
• 3 years of experience in data modeling and application database design.
• 3 years experience in writing PL/SQL code.
• 6 years experience writing scripts in AIX operating system environment (UNIX /Shell).
• 5 years experience working within an AIX operating system environment or higher.
• 5 years of experience in using snapshot cloning technology using Oracle ACFS with Oracle RAC & Standby database based database is preferable.
• At least 9 years experience in Oracle Enterprise Manager Suite, Grid Control tool, TOAD Tool/Oracle SQL Developer / any other comparable tool.
• Must be able to use Microsoft Project, Word, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft office tool suite.
