Job Title: Data Governance Specialist 

Location: Wickliffe, OH

Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid- Collaborate in office 4 days each week, with 1 flexible day

How You’ll Make an Impact 

As a Data Governance Specialist, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, driving the continuous maturation of enterprise data governance capabilities that strengthen data quality, trust, and business decision-making. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life. In this role, you will: 

  • Support the deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement of Lubrizol’s enterprise data governance framework, policies, standards, and operating model. 

  • Assist in operationalizing governance processes across critical business data domains. 

  • Facilitate data stewardship meetings, working groups, and governance forums to promote engagement and accountability. 

  • Promote data ownership, stewardship responsibilities, and compliance with established governance standards. 

  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and resolve data quality issues. 

  • Monitor and communicate data quality trends, risks, and remediation opportunities to improve trust and usability of critical data. 

  • Partner with teams to enhance enterprise data transparency, discoverability, and accessibility. 

  • Support governance platforms and tools such as Microsoft Purview, Alation, Collibra, SAP Master Data Governance (MDG), or similar solutions. 

  • Develop job aids, process documentation, and reference materials that support governance adoption and data literacy. 

Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Data Management, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field. 

  • 3+ years of experience in data governance, data management, master data, business analysis, data quality, or related disciplines. 

  • Experience supporting enterprise data governance initiatives. 

  • Demonstrated success collaborating with both business and technical stakeholders across a matrixed organization. 

  • Understanding of data governance principles, data stewardship, metadata management, and data quality concepts. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities. 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. 

Preferred Qualifications that Drive You Forward 

  • Familiarity with data catalog, metadata management, or governance platforms such as Microsoft Purview, Alation, Collibra, or Informatica. 

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP MDG, SAP ECC, SAP Datasphere, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, or similar enterprise platforms. 

  • Understanding of master data management principles. 

  • Experience within the chemical industry.
