Job description

The Tax Partner โ€“ Government Contracting will serve as a senior leader within the firmโ€™s tax practice, providing strategic tax advisory and compliance services to clients operating in the Government Contracting (GovCon) sector. Many of the firmโ€™s GovCon clients are technology and technology-enabled services companies that contract with federal agencies, creating a strong intersection between the GovCon and technology industries.

This role requires a relationship-driven advisor who can provide holistic tax planning to both the business and its owners. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in pass-through taxation, particularly S-Corporations, along with strong expertise in individual tax planning and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Government Contracting clients, delivering proactive tax planning and compliance services.
  • Lead the preparation and review of complex tax returns, including S-Corporation and high-net-worth individual returns.
  • Provide integrated tax planning for business owners, addressing both entity-level and personal tax considerations.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships with executives and owners of GovCon and technology services companies.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and deliver strategic guidance aligned with client business goals.
  • Mentor and develop tax professionals while ensuring high-quality technical execution across engagements.
  • Collaborate with other service lines within the firm to provide comprehensive advisory solutions.

Qualifications:

  • CPA required.
  • 10โ€“12+ years of public accounting tax experience, preferably within a mid-size or large accounting firm.
  • Experience serving Government Contracting (GovCon) clients strongly preferred.
  • Experience with technology or technology services companies is a plus.

Strong technical expertise in:

  • S-Corporation taxation
  • Individual tax planning and compliance
