Receiving Associate (Elkhorn)
Join the Open Door Mission's team of dedicated staff who are committed to full-time Christian ministry and breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty!
ABOUT THIS POSITION
If you are looking for more than a job, join us at our Outreach Center in Elkhorn, NE as a Receiving Associate! In this position you will maintain a Christ-centered receiving program that meets the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of low-income families and single individuals in the community of Omaha. Our Elkhorn Center brings in the most donations of any location, making this position an extremely important one in our Community Outreach department!
RESPONSIBILITIES
A full job description will be provided for review during the interview process.
  • Receive and record donations, always acting with a friendly, helpful, and thankful attitude towards donors.
  • Unload trucks.
  • Organize and prepare donations for transportation.
  • Work as a team with staff members and community volunteers.
  • Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • Keep the receiving area and equipment clean, in good repair, and organized.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS...
  • A visible relationship with Jesus Christ, and ability to share the gospel as opportunities arise.
  • Consistent attendance at a local Christian church
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods.
  • Must be trainable in use of pallet jack and forklift
  • Proficient computer skills, including Google Suite and general computer operations.

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD HAVE...
  • High school diploma and a valid driver's license.
  • Good decision-making skills, and an ability to work with people in crisis situations.
  • Excellent ability to organize and make a space efficient and welcoming
  • Must be able to delegate others to do work.
  • Must agree with the Open Door Mission Statement of Faith.
